InfoGrenades / Rich People, Rat Experiments, and Revolutions (VIDEO)

A common pattern throughout history is the sudden emergence of strange new beliefs when a population is relatively safe and well-fed. An opulent ruling class with their own new “luxury beliefs” also emerge. It happened in the Victorian age and a feminist studying French history noticed it happening just before the French Revolution 👇

Maybe the “Culture War” and social tumult we’re living through now is the implosion of a decades-long crescendo of “luxury beliefs” and opulence we’ve had starting with Bretton Woods and the end of World War 2. Boomers were probably the biggest beneficiaries (financially and culturally) from the post-war era and as such, are the most rabid defenders (or entertainers) of ridiculously naive “luxury beliefs”. For this reason they are also the stormtroopers for the post-WW2 “Liberal Economic Rules-Based International Order” but now that fantasy is all but dead now(an article on that here)

The emergence of “luxury beliefs” that occurs when a society is well-fed and secure is similar to the famous results of the “rat utopia” or “mouse utopia” experiments of Dr. John B. Calhoun, which discovered what he termed “Behavioral Sink”.

Fun Fact: Calhoun’s famous work was for the (N)ational (I)nstitutes of (M)ental (H)ealth, N.I.M.H. the organization that inspired the children’s book “The Rats of NIMH”!
