Modern Arithmetic was known in Medieval Europe as “Modus Indorum” or the “Indian Methods”. There was also an ancient Hindu decimal system. Apparently, some spiritual vedic scriptures (asanas) are math proofs/exercises. Is this why Theosophists like Oppenheimer were obsessed with India?
