In Thomas Pynchon’s Gravity’s Rainbow, a plot point was that there was a pattern to the V2 rocket strikes. In his book, Pynchon just turns this “pattern” is into a funny dirty joke… BUT, in doing so, he smuggles an idea to us…that there WAS in-fact a pattern. That idea ALONE is a weapon.
