The ‘f-holes’ on violins & chellos are the shape you’d get if you “unravelled” a sphere from 3-dimensions down to 2-dimensions.
Also Harps have the exact same curve as concert pianos. The curve directly corresponds to the frequency range each key produces. (see a diagram)
